Being oozing with sensational flavors and the juiciness of the taco meat that is my own taco seasoning mix is just one of my marvelous works!
Ground Beef Tacos stood atop our weekly menu where it was alongside our family’s favorite dinner, usually on Taco Tuesdays! I have a time-saving home-made taco seasoning that I favor to apply in this formula so that I can cook the taco meat in 10 minutes. You love it so much that it will also be yours before you know it!
Home-made taco seasoning
Making taco seasoning from scratch is very simple and can be a lot more affordable than buying prepared taco seasoning. These are the spices that I put in my mix. You can also include paprika, coriander, onion powder, and red pepper if you like some spiciness.
- Chili powder
- Cumin
- Garlic powder
- Mexican oregano
- Salt and pepper
Usually, I am the one who suggests the specific amount in the recipe card below because chili powder and cumin are most times more than the other spices. On the other hand, you can always increase or decrease the amounts, or else, you can use your preferred seasoned taco mix.

Tips for making ground beef tacos
- Be careful not to dry out the taco meat when you add the sauce. After beef is cooked, add it with the seasoning and start cook it on medium low heat and just until the sauce starts to thicken. Keep an eye on it, so it doesn’t get dry out.
- Warm up the tortillas before adding the ground beef on top. You can warm them up in the microwave, oven, or on a skillet for about 1-2 minutes on each side. This creates the tortillas soft, flexible, and much less likely to break.
- Do the addition of onions to the batter to make it more savory. You should be cooking the onions until they get soft before adding the ground beef. They provide a meaty taste to the taco and are entirely discretionary. Onion powder is another option Besides that, you can choose it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best ground beef for tacos?
I find out that the 90% lean ground beef gives the taco a rich taste and at the same time it’s just right for it to be not too greasy. If it is leaner, it may turn out to be too dry. If you use a lesser lean type, be sure to hew off the fat after you cook the ground beef, and then add the seasoning.
How can make the tacos low carb?
The simplest way to make low carb ground beef taco meat is by just making the low-carb tortillas and is the healthiest option of all. To have fun and be imaginative the best approach is to make it a taco salad or refer to it in a taco salad or in a taco bowl.
How much taco meat do you need per person?
A taco meat of about two to three tablespoons can be used per tortilla or hard taco shell that is about 6 inches (a traditional size). This means that depending on how much of other substances you use in the ground beef tacos one pound of the ground beef would be more than enough for about 8 and up to 12 people.
